Slow Cooker Pulled Pork with BBQ Sauce

Ingredients and Preparation

Pork shoulder or pork butt 3-4 pound
Chicken broth 1 cup
BBQ sauce 1 cup
Brown sugar 2 tablespoons
Paprika 2 teaspoons
Garlic powder 1 teaspoon
Onion powder 1 teaspoon
Salt 1/2 teaspoon
Black pepper 1/4 teaspoon
Garlic, minced 4-5 cloves


  1. Place the pork in the slow cooker. In a small bowl, whisk together the chicken broth, BBQ sauce, brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Pour the mixture over the pork.
  2. Add the minced garlic to the slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or until the pork is very tender and shreds easily.
  3. Remove the pork from the slow cooker and place it on a cutting board. Using two forks, shred the pork into small pieces. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and stir in any accumulated juices.
  4. Serve the pulled pork with additional BBQ sauce, if desired.
